2023/24 Pre-Season Highlights: Nurnberg 1-1 Arsenal
Arsenal, the last Premier League runners-up, played their first friendly this summer against Nurnberg in Germany, which ended in a 1-1 draw. As their pre-season schedule, the Gunners will take on the MLS All-Stars next Thursday, followed by friendlies against European giants Barcelona and Manchester United on a tour of the United States.
It took just seven minutes for Arsenal to score in this match, as Bukayo Saka gave his team the lead when he dribbled past a defender in the box and scored with a low shot into the far corner of the goal, with the young England international giving his team the lead.
Throughout the game Arsenal kept the ball and pressed the opponents through the attack, but the players who just returned from the holiday were unable to convert their shots into goals. Instead, the relaxed mentality of the back line led to mistakes, and in the 62nd minute of the second half, goalkeeper Karl Hein gave a bad pass to the opponents, allowing them to put the ball directly into the empty net from outside the penalty area.
