Jarell Quansah signs new Liverpool contract
Liverpool have managed to extend the stay of their academy graduate Jarell Quansah, the youngster has signed a lucrative new deal.
Liverpool defensive sensation Jarell Quansah has signed a new deal at his childhood club and it has already been made official by the Merseyside club. While his previous contract ran until the summer of 2027, the new deal will secure his long-term future and reward him for the progress he has made over the last 12 months.
Jarell Quansah on extending his stay at the club
Quansah who has been a part of the Reds since the age of five is delighted to continue at Anfield. He feels it is the best place for him to continue his progress and he is expected to work under new boss Arne Slot.
Quansah’s rise at Liverpool
He went up the ranks at some pace and broke into their first team last season. He was handed his senior debut against Newcastle United away from home in August last year,
The 21-year-old centre-back has already made 35 appearances for the first-team. He is already an important squad player and it isn’t long before he cements his place as a regular.
The youngster started their first league game of the season but he was subbed off at half-time. While Quansah started their EFL Cup fixture, he has been on the bench in all of their league games as well as in the Champions League.
He will have to work his way back into the mix but they still believe in his abilities and feel he can be an integral part of their first team under Arne Slot going forward.
A bumper new deal for Jarell Quansah
Quansah last signed a contract in May 2023 which was around three months before his debut. While his future was secured as his last deal ran until 2027, the Reds wanted to reward him for his performances.
Sporting director Richard Hughes was hugely impressed with what he had seen from the young English centre-back. He believes the 21-year-old defender has a bright future and offering him a deal with improved terms is a way to show him that they have full trust in him going forward.
Despite being involved in just two games in the 2024/25 season so far, the 21-year-old is happy to continue at Anfield and fight for a place in the starting XI.
