Pep Guardiola has confirmed that goalkeeper Ederson remained at Manchester City during the summer transfer window because no clubs met the club's asking price. The Brazilian international attracted interest from Saudi Pro League teams Al Nassr and Al Ittihad, but City valued him highly and did not receive an acceptable offer.

After Ederson's impressive performance in City’s 3-2 victory over Fulham, Guardiola expressed his satisfaction that a suitable bid never materialized. He emphasized that while there were inquiries, the offers did not reflect Ederson's worth, especially considering City’s success in recent years. “He knew from day one I didn't want it, we didn't want it but the truth... the real offer didn't come,” Guardiola stated, highlighting Ederson’s significance to the team.
